The first season of the series Foundation premiered on September 24, 2021, and conclude on November 19, 2021. The first season of Foundation has received a great response from the audience. It appears that the second season of the series Foundation will likewise be well received by the audience.
Let’s watch the trailer for the second season of Foundation, which is embedded below.
Foundation Season 2 Cast
The good news is that the upcoming season of Foundation will feature both familiar and new faces. Jared Harris is set to reprise his role as Hari Seldon, while Lee Pace, Terrence Mann, and Cassian Bilton will reprise their roles as the Empire’s Cleon clones. Leah Harvey will resume her role as Salvor Hardin, and Lou Llobell will play her mother, Gaal Dornick.
It was also stated in an Apple TV Plus press release (via Esquire) that eleven new cast members had been added for Foundation season 2.
“With season 2, our audience will be able to explore more of Asimov’s unforgettable characters and worlds, such as Hober Mallow, General Bel Riose, and all of the Outer Suns,” Goyer added. “With Foundation, we’re playing the long game, and I’m grateful to my collaborators at Apple and Skydance for entrusting me with this epic.” Fasten your seatbelts. We’re about to fold a lot of space.”

Isabella Laughland of Harry Potter fame and Sandra Yi Sencindiver of The Wheel of Time are among the newcomers to the cast. It should be noted, however, that only four of the new characters listed are from the novels. So it appears that we are in for some meaty new character interactions that will surprise even the most die-hard Foundation followers.
Foundation Season 2 Plot
After the great ‘first crisis,’ we saw Dr. Hari Seldon appear to the Foundation community on Terminus in his digitized/hologram form near the end of the first season to advise on the next steps. We anticipate another crisis will strike Terminus during Foundation Season 2, thus we may expect to see digital Hari and Jared Harris play important roles in the tale once more.
The despotic Cleon clone monarchs of Trantor and rulers of the Galactic Empire, brothers Dawn, Day, and Dusk, had resolved their problems with the defective Brother Dawn by Episode 10 of Season 1, but the complicated conspiracy against them had frightened and infuriated them.
The Foundation, on the other hand, has led the Empire to believe that their project was destroyed by a massive solar flare in the outer galaxy thanks to a smart maneuver involving the Invictus starship. Hari Seldon, the super-genius, came up with this brilliant scheme.
So, would the Clone kings now leave that region of the cosmos alone so that the humans there may focus on becoming the Foundation of Hari’s dreams in season 2? We have our doubts that it will be quite that simple.

The end scenes of Foundation Season 1 take place 138 years later than most of the previous season, which is how long it takes Hari’s math prodigy Gaal Dornick to travel in a cryo-pod to her home planet of Syntax. Except for an underwater flashing light, she finds the Earth in ruins. She then swims down to find another cryo-pod with Salvor Hardin.
Salvor learned in the final episode that she was the daughter of Gaal and Rayh Foss through the embryo they produced together and implanted inside surrogate mother Mari. Salvor then hands the cube she used to access Hari’s Vault on Terminus to Gaal.
Where To Watch Foundation Season 2?
The second season of Foundation is still filming, therefore we wouldn’t expect to see any fresh footage or a trailer until the end of 2022. Based on Isaac Asimov’s award-winning novels, Foundation follows a band of exiles on a tremendous adventure to preserve humanity. Foundation will be accessible on Apple TV Plus for streaming.
