A social worker and local poet Asia Khan Bodla was reportedly murdered for trying to find her missing sister Aqsa.

Asia’s sister has been missing for the last six months

Asia, daughter of a local transport owner Akbar Khan Bodla, was pursuing the case of her sister Aqsa, who has been missing for the last six months, against Aqsa’s in-laws.

On Monday morning, Asia was on her way to Khanpur (some 50 miles from the capital Islamabad) in a van when four persons, including Sabir, the father-in-law of Aqsa, Asif and two unidentified masked assailants, stopped the van. They dragged Asia out of the van, opened fire on her and killed her on the spot.

District Police Officer Ahmed Nawaz Cheema said a case had been registered against the suspects with the Kot Chhuta Police Station.
