ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and former first daughter Maryam Nawaz have been placed on Exit Control List (ECL,) interior ministry informed on Tuesday.
Maryam and Nawaz are expected to return to Pakistan on July 13 (Friday.)
Previously, the National Accountability Bureau had written three different letters to the ministry requesting the names of Nawaz and Maryam to be placed on ECL, but to no avail. The letters were written in February, June, and July.

It was reported by multiple local and international media houses that Nawaz and Maryam are expected to be arrested during the immigration process at Allama Iqbal Airport as per standard procedure for all those placed on ECL.
It should be noted that the security authorities have decided to fly the two to Islamabad immediately after their arrival on a special place to prevent any political shows at the busy airport. It was reported by a Pakistan media outlet Geo News that both of them are expected to be directly moved to Adiala prison in Rawalpindi.
